Transportation Assistance Program, Springfield, MA

Travelers Aid Family Services' Transportation Assistance Program has been extremely successful in helping vulnerable families in the Boston area relocate to more hospitable locations and connecting them with the needed resources to resolve their crises. In April, 2005, we opened a part-time office for the TAP program in Springfield, MA to serve individuals and families in the Western area of the state who wish to relocate outside of Massachusetts for better living situations.

In the last fiscal year, 196 individuals, including 135 children from 49 families, moved to better living conditions through the Springfield Office of the Transportation Assistance Program.

To qualify for the Transportation Assistance Program, a client family must be referred by the Department of Transitional Assistance and have a verified, safe place to stay in their destination.

The Springfield office is open Monday’s from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s 8:30am to 5:00pm.

To contact the Springfield office of the TAP program, please call 413-858-1216 to reach Gricelides Saxe, case manager.
